This week on Wednesday 20th April, the All-Party Parliamentary Pharmacy Group hosted our virtual event, Pharmacy – The Front Door of the NHS.
As well as our fantastic panel of pharmacist speakers from across the country and industry sector, we were also joined by several Parliamentarians, who discussed pharmacy’s vital work in patient diagnosis, fighting health inequalities across the UK, and exploring the extensive list of vital services provided by pharmacies to communities up and down the country.
This event and discussion was led by our Chair, Jackie Doyle-Price MP, with frontline pharmacy staff and Parliamentarians sharing their thoughts on a range of diverse topics, including the invaluable work provided by pharmacies throughout the pandemic, the role of pharmacy in tackling the NHS backlog, reducing health inequalities and the support pharmacies need to provide and maximize their possible patient services.
Special thanks to our distinguished panel including:
Reena Barai (Practising Pharmacist, Independent Pharmacy Owner, Independent Prescriber and PSNC Committee Member)
Victoria Steele (Chair of the Patient Safety Group)
Nick Kaye (Vice-Chair of the National Pharmacy Association)
Ravi Sharma (Director for England Royal Pharmaceutical Society)
Ian Strachan (AIMp Member & Owner of Strachan’s Chemists)
As ever, we would like to thank everyone who took the time to join us for the event, and for their continuing support for the whole pharmacy sector.
